Our dear friend/family Viggo Riddersholm passed on December 25, 2016 in his home in San Mateo CA. Viggo was born April 12, 1925 in Søndergård Jylland, Denmark to Henrik and Petrea Riddersholm. Viggo took his education in Denmark Read Obituary
Viggo was our neighbor for over 38 years. He was an old-school machinist who had a small shop set up in his garage. In August of 1996 I bought his shop and started my own business in San Carlos. Two years ago I invited Viggo to visit my shop, and he saw some of his equipment sharing space with the new equipment I had bought. I think he got a kick out of visiting my shop. I will miss Viggo. He was a great neighbor and friend. Dick Fasholz & family.

Viggo you were a friend, neighbor and someone who could be counted on. It always made my day better seeing you driving your sports cars or riding your bike in the park. It was an honor to know a man with so much skill, integrity and inner strength. You will be missed. RIP Viggo.
My thoughts are with Viggo today and a lot nice memories of him from my childhood passes by. He was a kind of “exotic” uncle living far, far away in San Francisco but always present when big celebrations took place within the family in Denmark. He always had that friendly and kind twinkle in his eyes. When he spoke his mother tongue you could easily hear his native dialect from the western part of Denmark mixed with a bit of american. I’m grateful that I’ve got the chance to visit and see him at his 90’s birthday and experience the place and surrounding he lived his life and meeting all the kind people around him. Today the sun is shining from frosty blue sky and I look up into the sky wishing Viggo a beatutiful last journey
Viggo will always be held as a surrogate grandfather to me. I will never forget days in my childhood, spent on his boat coasting along the bay marina. Or the family gatherings that he was always a fixture of. He was always kind and soft spoken, but never passive with his opinions or his passions. I will miss him dearly and he will always be remembered for what he has added to me and my families lives. -Mark B. Calles

My Uncle Viggo played a big part in my early childhood as he also moved to Toronto in the late 1950’s around the time we did (Svend (his brother), Elle, Steven and I). He would come to visit us every week. We moved back to Denmark in 1966 and of course only saw him occasionally after that when there were special celebrations. My family and I have been fortunate enough to have Viggo visit us in Australia and we have visited him in San Mateo. Viggo was a very loving uncle, and an extremely kind person. We will all miss him and I hope that he is once again together with his siblings in heaven. Henrijette Riddersholm
Viggo has been a family friend for many years. He worked at United Airlines with our Dad, Ole Jensen and just lived one street over. He loved travel and his vintage Morgan sports car. He would keep up on his homeland, Aalborg, Denmark, I believe and would share the Danish newspaper with our dad. Always a kind, soft spoken man, never showed malice towards anyone. We last visited with him on Thanksgiving Day and I am glad that I gave him a squeeze on his shoulder and told him to take care of himself, not knowing that would be the last time I would see him.
