For sixteen years, she devoted her life to caring for me. She wasn’t just my grandmother she was my home, my heart, and my biggest blessing. Every morning, she’d wake me up so I wouldn’t be late for school. I can still hear her voice calling my name, the smell of breakfast already filling the air. She always made sure I started my day with a full stomach and a full heart. That was her love quiet, constant, and unconditional. And every time I went to my cousin’s house for a sleepover, she would ask the same question When will you be home? At the time, I didn’t always understand why she asked. But now I do. It wasn’t worry it was love. She just wanted to know her grandson was safe. Even when she was tired, she still showed up for me every single day. She gave me everything she had, not because she had to, but because that’s who she was. Selfless. Gentle. Strong. Now, the mornings feel too quiet. The chair where she sat feels too still. But I know she’s still with me in every lesson she taught, every act of kindness she showed, and every bit of love she planted in my heart. Mama Vicky, I’ll miss your voice, your hugs, your laughter. But I promise I’ll carry your love with me for the rest of my life. You were my angel here on earth, and now you’ll be my angel in heaven. Thank you, Mama Vicky, for everything. I love you forever. And though you’re not here to wake me up anymore… your love will always be the reason I rise. Rest in love , Mama Vicky.
