Victor John Ward's Obituary
We are very sorry to inform you that our beloved Victor John Ward passed away on August 10, 2025 of an acute asthma attack. It was very sudden and we are all devastated by his passing.
Victor was a strong man of God and was faithful to God with all his heart. This overflowed into the incredible impact that he had on his family and many, many friends. Victor was a trusted confidant to many people, a deep listener, and a wise counselor. He made an indelible impact on many people with his wisdom, honesty, humor, and knowledge of God.
”The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.” Proverbs 20:5.
He loved deeply, fiercely, and protectively. While he was brilliant, an intellectual with a sharp brain, and an avid reader, he humbly served in many capacities. He served on the Hope Tech School Board for many years, as a Co-Founder and COO of two high tech SV start ups as well as a real estate company, a labor negotiator with Oakland Unified, a teacher, a lawyer, and earlier as an intern minister. He graduated University of Cal at Berkeley with a degree in rhetoric; J.D., Hastings Law; and Santa Clara Business School.
On any given day, he could be found writing his book, presenting at a school board meeting, working on product plans for his tech start up, working on plans for real estate subdivision, having coffee with a friend, arguing a constitutional tax issue, and/or cleaning up messes made by our rescue dogs.
He is beloved by many people, especially his wife of 24 years, Emily, and his 11 year old son, Joshua. He also leaves behind his sister Lisa, relatives Tracy, Scot, Brooke, Catherine, nieces, nephews, and cousins. And many, many dear friends and brothers and sisters in Christ
