Tsi-Shung Sun's Obituary
Tsi-shung Sun, beloved and loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away in his sleep on October 8, 2019 at his home in Foster City, CA, after a courageous nine-year battle with multiple myeloma. A graduate of National Taiwan University in Taipei, Tsi-shung earned his doctorate in Physics at the University of Waterloo in Canada and spent much of his life doing research and engineering for the U.S. defense industry, working hard to give his family a life rich with opportunity.A consummate tinkerer, Tsi-shung enjoyed designing, making, and fixing things, as well as sharing his artistic gifts through drawing and photography. His many other talents and hobbies included playing bridge, basketball, and poker, traveling, listening to music, and watching action movies. But most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and extended family. He is survived by — and greatly missed by — Ming-yih, his wife of 48 years; his three children, Jennifer, Felice, and Zennard; and his five grandchildren, Kaya, Amari, Leila, Adeline, and Isaac. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the International Myeloma Foundation (https://www.myeloma.org/) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
