Shelley H.L. Lin's Obituary
Shelley Lin passed away February 23, 2024 at the age of 94 as a result of an ongoing illness. His career was a dedicated international banker who had worked in several countries. He had been stationed in Chicago, Illinois, Toronto, Canada, Amsterdam, of the Netherlands, and Taipei, Taiwan.
Shelley enjoyed home-cooked meals with his wife and also enjoyed the restaurant experience. He always had a good appetite for fresh organic food and enjoyed regularly going to the farmers market. His wife made incredible recipes from Fujian, China.
He loved Chinese opera and had a large collection of DVDs and VHSs. He would search for rare and unique recordings throughout the bay area. He also used to play an ancient Chinese instrument called Erhu and could perform as a female singer, as in Chinese operas. What he learned from these things, he could easily teach! Shelley liked to go to the bookstore and search for hidden book treasures because he enjoyed reading a lot. His favorite sport was tennis.
Shelley is survived by seven children; Wendell, Ginger, Bonnie, Wilson, Helen, Kris, and Jill.
Shelley‘s youngest son Windsor died December 2013 and his wife Dina died May 2015.
