Shay Brewer's Obituary
“Grammy” Shay Brewer, 66 of San Bruno, passed peacefully at home on the evening of April 25, 2016 with her loving husband and son at her bedside. She was born on June 12, 1949 in Bakersfield, CA to Mabel and Levi “Shorty” O’Neal.She was raised in Bonneville, Arkansas and moved to California to attend UCLA on a Amer ace Merit Scholarship which is only awarded to four students nationally per year. She worked for 28 years for the County of San Mateo as a Social Worker and Administrative Law Judge.She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Michael McNamara, her son, Dale Brewer (Danielle) and grandchildren Samantha and Jacob.The service will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd, on Friday, April 29 at 1:00 pm. Please meet at the main building and all guest will caravan to the graveside. It is requested guests wear plaid because it was her favorite pattern.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS). Seven years ago Shay received a new kidney and liver from an anonymous donor through UNOS. This donation gave her seven more years to spend with the family she loved.
