Bahram jan, I have known you since 1974, and have never seen you so downhearted as I saw you last week. You lost a real jewel. Would break any good person what has happened to you. The sadness cut me after I left the service for a few days. Knowing your personality you will come stronger. You will realize even if Shahrzad is gone but she has given the best lessen to you & your kids with her actions and deeds. I can say even the last two years may have been the ultimate display of her character and impression. You & your daughters? are lucky that had such a real role noble model in your life. We all will go soon or later but lucky those of us that will live forever in the heart of many for many years. Shahrzad?s life story will be shared in your family for generations to come and they will all learn from it and grow with it to become a better human. What a legacy! I know this because I have seen it has happened to many families (my dad?s life for me is one). Shahzard had a good man as husband and good brother (with kind eyes like hers) and graceful father that I met, and loving mother. She was so good because what all of you afforded her and let her to be whom she wanted to be a jewel, and mother of two blessed daughters. I can tell you from my side, I am so honored to have you as a friend and, how lucky not to lose your contact due to the events to our country and the opportunity to get to know Shahrzad. I forgot to tell this story about Shahzard in her service. If you recall you were in a seminar at San Diego in 1994 and I was just back from Iran, you guys asked me to come to the seminar and let me sleep in your room at the hotel. Just ask yourself how many people will do that, expect people having yours and Shahrzad?s personality (by the way sorry for my snoring?I saw different character in you guys next morning ? no complaint – since I know CPAP has saved my marriage). I know the age of your kids are not a good age to face with this event, but again you will be surprised with the character that Shahzard has built in them how the whole thing will turn around for good. I am sure there are many people are like me that they want to talk to you and tell you how they feel, but it is not easy. I am not sure what can I do for you but I can watch you to learn for you. I know Bahram from Aramehr (Sharif) university late 1970?s (even though his GPA ?moaddel? was higher than mine, but I was smarter than him). In the early 1990?s we both went back to Iran. That is when I got to know both Barham and Sharhzads families. I love them all (minus Bahram) and I always wonder how come Sharhzad likes this guy. I got married and came back to the US in the late 1990?s, that is when our family got together whenever his family was coming to LA area and we went SF area. Amazingly my wife only liked Sharhzad compared to everyone else?s wife?s that I have. It was something in her character that had good chemistry with my wife. Our families have the same age kids and we have many good memories of those gatherings. Although we haven?t seen each other for almost 4 to 5 years, we will never forget the kind and genuine smile of Sharhzad. She is always alive in our memories. The first time we met, she was sitting right in front of me in the first row of the cfirst class of middle school. We were both new to the school and we just clicked. After a while Sona joined us and ut was three of us. Three musketeers! All we shared was love of life, through laughers, sleep overs, basketball, bowling, birthdate parties and innocent gossips. The last time we saw each other was November last year. There we were three musketeers again, one of them was fighting for her life, physically broken from all the suffering of the disease, but with big spirit hoping to survive the battle, worrying about the girls and of course wanting to be a good host for her old friends. We found our friend after years to lose her again, knowing that one day we will be together for ever is a comfort and until then, there are only good memories of laughter and love.
