Ruth Loaec's Obituary
Ruth LoaecResident of SunnyvaleJune 8,1920- Sept. 22, 2011Born in Germany. She lived through the Nazi era and was in Berlin at the end of WWII and remained in Germany for 2 years of the cold war. Ruth was a true patriot, strongly opposing the madness of that period in German history. She came to America in 1952 following her mother who was already here. Ruth married Gilbert Loaec, a radar engineer, in 1956 and raised two children, Raymond and Yvonne. In 1970 she and her family moved from Long Island, New York to Sunnyvale. Ruth was the typical soccer mom, always driving the children to scouts, swimming, lacrosse, soccer, ballet, and high school. She was active in women `s clubs and was an accomplished artist of numerous beautiful oil paintings. Ruth and her husband loved traveling and did so extensively in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. She waged a battle against Alzheimer’s for about 5 years, degrading rapidly during the last 18 months and finally succumbed to this horrible disease. Ruth was dearly loved by her husband of 55 years, her son and daughter and her 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Rheannon, Cody and Bryce, all surviving her. In Liu of flowers she requested support of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California to help others.Her family will miss her dearly.
