Robert John Hoffman's Obituary
Robert John Hoffman born Kansas City, Kansas on November 8, 1918 and passed away in Redwood City, California on August 31, 2016. Robert is survived by his wife Elsie, son Thomas, daughter Phyllis Barber, four grandsons Lawrence, Michael, Richard and Nicholas and three great grandchildren Lucy, Natalie, and James. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Ellen and son David. Robert graduated from USC School of Engineering in 1942 and was employed by the General Electric Company for 45 years. Robert spent many years serving his community. He was a Boy Scout Leader. Little League Coach, President of the Redwood City School District Board, involved with the State Department of Boating and Waterways, Chairman o f”Aqua Terra” Foundation to clean the bay of derelict boats, a major contributor and one of the authors for the Redwood City Library Archives project: “Redwood City, A Hometown History”, lifetime member of the Sequoia Yacht Club, to name a few. Memorial will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park.
