Penelope Ann SchmidtPenelope Ann Schmidt passed away peacefully this morning, January 1, 2014. Penny Lynwood was born January 3, 1942 in Menominee, Michigan the daughter of Florence (nee Woods) and Charles Lynwood. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald, sons, Christopher, Peter (Nancy) and Cory (Roeya), grandchildren: Hannah, Kaitlyn, Porter, Cooper and Logan, sister Holly (Dan) Popkey of DePere, WI., brother Phil (Lynn) Lynwood of Eagle, MI., sister-in law Judith (William) Allen of Mequon, WI.After high school, Penny moved to Milwaukee where she continued her education and began working for Johnson Controls where she met and married Ron in 1964. They built a home in Grafton, Wisconsin where their sons were born and where they lived until a job transfer moved them to Foster City, CA. in 1972.Penny, always fashion conscious and well dressed, took a job with Nordstrom in the fashion jewelry department where she became sales all star several times. A business assignment for Ron moved them to Tokyo, Japan where they lived from 1996 until 2001. Although they travelled all of their married life, living in the Far East allowed them to enjoy world travel for those five years. While in Japan, Penny became very active in the Japan-American Women’s Group. As an officer in that organization she had the rare opportunity to personally meet the Empress of Japan. Penny was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed decorating and entertaining for any and all occasions.She will be interred on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Skylawn Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Penny’s honor will be appreciated.
