Pamela Nietert's Obituary
Pamela Nietert of Atherton, California passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Pamela was born on April 21, 1922 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma as “Pansy Annavey Plumlee” to parents Roy and Rachel Plumlee. After attending Northern Oklahoma College she went on to fulfill her two childhood dreams, working as an editor for the Blackwell Journal Tribune, a local newspaper, and then as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, based in Denver. Working in the airline industry is where she met her husband, pilot John W. Nietert. John and Pamela had 5 children. They relocated to Woodside, California in 1958. Pamela was a fashion model into her late 40’s and then spent the remainder of her career in real estate with Coldwell Banker, where she continued to sell real estate well into her 80’s. She loved working in her garden and was devoted to her family. She suffered with dementia her last few years of life, yet remained active while living in the Atria Hillsdale Senior Living Community. Pamela was predeceased by her husband and son, both named John Nietert. Pamela is survived by four of her children: Sons Trace Nietert, Mark Nietert and David Nietert, as well as her daughter Anna Nietert. She leaves grandchildren John Fields, Heather (Nietert) Odom, Amber (Nietert) Carpenter, Serena Nietert, and Karl-William Nietert and her great grandchild, Mackenzie Odom. She is also survived by her sister Sylvia Dawe. Family will remember her smile, grace and an abundance of love. A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA.
