Marvic Aganon Acdan's Obituary
Marvic "Marv" Acdan unexpectedly passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and kindness that touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. With his infectious smile and genuine spirit, Marv was a beloved figure among his family, friends, and community, and he will be profoundly missed.
A proud lifelong resident of San Francisco, Marv’s love for his city was matched only by his passion for its sports teams, especially the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers. Whether watching a game at home surrounded by friends or cheering from the stands, Marv’s enthusiasm was contagious. His playful antics and good-natured energy earned him the nickname “The Wizard,” as he would often joke that he cast spells on the opposing teams.
Marv found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying KFC chicken, savoring his mother Maria’s homemade lumpia, or sipping on a cold Dr. Pepper. He had a special fondness for dining at the House of Prime Rib on occasion and indulging in Shubert’s Bakery cakes during family celebrations.
What truly set Marv apart was his positivity and his ability to light up any room with his presence. He lived each day with a smile and a kind word for everyone, making people feel welcome and loved wherever he went. His generous spirit and unwavering cheerfulness will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Marv is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Maria and Victoriano. He is survived by his devoted brothers, Mel (Naomi) and Vic (Deborah), as well as a wide circle of family and friends who will carry on his memory and the joy he brought to their lives.
An intimate and private ceremony will be held to celebrate Marv’s life and honor the beautiful person he was. While his physical presence is no longer with us, Marv’s spirit will live on in the many cherished memories he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Marv—your warmth, kindness, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Marv’s memory to the Giants Community fund at https://giantscommunityfund.givingfuel.com/giants-community-fund-donation-page .
