Leslie John Martin McGee's Obituary
Leslie J. McGee, 46, of Woodland, Calif., died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, after a courageous eight-month battle with glioblastoma.
He was born Dec. 20, 1974, in Pittsburgh, to Margie Myers McGee Artman and the late Martin McGee. He was a 1993 graduate of Burrell High. From the age of 3, he desired to be a nurse. While in high school, he logged more than 1,000 volunteer hours in the ER at C.G.H. and A.V.H. He attended Malone College, graduated from the Connelly School, St. Margaret's School of Nursing and Waynesburg University. He received his MSN online.
For the last 10 years, he worked for Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. His last position was director of continuum services. He is survived by his mother, Margie Artman, of Lower Burrell; sisters, Beth (Rob) Guthy, of Elkins Park, and Lisa McGee, of Liberty Borough; nephew, Zachary Mulac; and nieces, Hannah and Olivia Guthy. He is also survived by his friends and housemates, Larry and Ryan; and his beloved Bichons, Sam and Ace.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy McGee, in August of 2003; his father, Martin McGee, in September of 2020; and his stepfather, Michael Artman, in March of 2021.
