Josephine Wu Soong's Obituary
Josephine Wu Soong, aged 89, of San Jose, California died on May 23, 2014.She was born April 15, 1925 in China to Wu Hsin-Pen and Sha Fu-Ming. Josephine graduated from St. John’s University in Shanghai. Afterwards, she worked in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. On September 26, 1954 she married Paul Yee Soong.In 1958, Josephine and her family immigrated to the United States where they lived in New York City, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland and California. She retired from the US Postal Service in Rockville, Maryland after 19 years.Josephine is survived by her husband, Paul Soong, of San Jose, California; brother, Donald Wu (Virginia) of Montreal, Canada; three children, Patricia Soong (Michael Champeau) of Hillsborough, California, Jeanette Ray of Naperville, Illinois, and Steven Soong (Mei-Ting) of Poughquag, New York; and six grandchildren, Andrew and Paul Champeau, Elizabeth Soong, Allison and Jennifer Ray and Linus Soong.She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, line dancing, traveling, tending to her roses and photography.Josephine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enriched the lives of all whom she met.A funeral will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in San Mateo, California.
