John E. Bagot's Obituary
John was born March 21, 1926 in San Francisco to Edith and Albert Bagot.. He grew up in the Richmond District along with his brothers, Albert and William who are predeceased.John attended Washington High School and at age 17 enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in WWII.After returning from WWII, John entered the SFPD Police Academy and retired in 1977 as a Sergeant. He had 30 years of service , almost all in uniform. In the 1960’s John and his wifeCarlene ( predeceased) moved to Pacifica where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life.John leaves behind his son Michael (Helen), daughter Nina (Dan Ortiz), daughter Katherine, son John (Wendy) and is preceded in death by daughter Kimberly.More than his time in the Military or Police Department, he was most proud to be GRANDPA JACK.He leaves behind grandchildren; Melanie, Lauren, Christina, Jordan, Sara, Brooke, Hannah, Jack and Matthew. He was very loved by all his grandchildren and will be greatly missed at family gatherings.Services will be held on Friday, October 19th at 1:00 pm at Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 at Skyline Blvd. Celebration of Life to follow immediately at The Iron Gate,Belmont, CA.
