JoAnn C. Holliday Rock's Obituary
JoAnn, surrounded by family and friends, very peacefully passed away in Millbrae after a years long battle with Parkinson's disease. JoAnn retired after 35 years as a professor at College of San Mateo. Her last position was as head of the Cooperative Education Department, although she had also been the heads of the Physical Education and Cosmetology Departments throughout her career, as well.A native of Forest Grove, Oregon, JoAnn and her husband, Carl, both graduates of Pacific University, moved to San Mateo County in 1961 where they made their home and raised their family for 45 years. JoAnn was welcomed home by her son, Robert and husband of 50 years, Carl. Her daughter and best friend, Kristin, is here to raise JoAnn's beloved grandsons, Zachary Carl and Jasper James.A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park.
