My favorite memory of Pua Lahi is was the phrases she would say like “OH BOY” and “Slowly but Surely” and how she would make the best food ever I loved the food she would make and all the little things she has taught me as a young girl like how to set a table, how to fix a bed, how to drive, how to write a check, how to read the electricity meter LOL… I know random but she always took the time to teach me something new everytime I visited I know she is happy where she is now… but her love will never be forgotten Love you all and sending my love out to her brothers and sisters for the beautiful music they provided at the service.

I remember when Sam and I were younger probably 17-18 years old a house down the street was on fire so we all got up around 2 A.M and went out in the street to see what was going on. After we stood there and watched for a while Mrs. Alusa invited some of us back to her house where she made us food and hot chocolate. We sat on the balcony talking and having a great time.She was a great woman. I’m glad I had the pleasure to cross paths with her and the whole Alusa family in this lifetime.

I remember Pua Lahi asking me to give her a ride so she can take care of a “few” errands which turned out to be a half-day event…BUT the reason why I love this day is because I got the chance to have a really good conversation with her about random things. And when I dropped her off at home, she tried to give me money for gas. She was such a loving and considerate person.

My favorite memory of Pua Lahi was the way she’d laugh & watch me eat, if I was over the house eating, she would always wait to watch me finish. I have a habit to pick up my plate & put the edges into my mouth and scoop every bit of my food into my mouth and she would enjoy every bit of it, she would sit there & laugh until she teared up. I’m really gonna miss her!

I went with her to get my driver’s license in the yellow mustang. I was soooo nervous cause my dad said if I dont pass, I’m never going to drive. She knew how nervous I was, but on the drive to DMV, she continually kept comforting me & assuring me that everything will be ok. Of course, she added a little humor in there & said, “If you dont pass, we can just reschedule until you pass, then let your dad know.” We both laughed, I wasn’t as nervous & I passed my test that day! ??
