Diana Mavis Lu Shing's Obituary
Diana Mavis Lu Shing of San Francisco, California, born on September 19th, 1961 in Manhattan, New York, passed away peacefully in Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center on September 26th, 2025 at the age of 64.
She is survived by her loving brothers, Sidney Lu Shing and Stephen Lu Shing and family, who will forever cherish her warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion.
Diana grew up in New York City’s Chinatown and later moved to Forest Hills, NY. After graduating from Baruch College, she began her career at Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield as a systems analyst. In 1991, she moved to San Francisco to pursue new opportunities, joining the GAP as a Systems Administrator before working for various technology companies. For the past 12 years, she found a home at Kaiser Permanente as a Business Consultant Specialist, where she was admired by colleagues for her dedication, kindness, and generous spirit.
In her spare time, Diana loved sharing meals with friends, catching the latest movies and keeping up with the new TV series. She had a knack for finding the best sales while shopping with her closest friends, even if that meant traveling for miles or waking up at the crack of dawn. A lifelong Disney fan and having made numerous Disney trips and cruises, her greatest affection was reserved for Snoopy, a love so deep that she shopped for Snoopy gifts all over the world.
Diana’s greatest passion was travel. She journeyed across six continents, savoring every new experience. She especially treasured traveling with loved ones, whether exploring the world with friends, guiding younger relatives on trips abroad, or cruising the seas with family. Yet no trip was more important than her annual December pilgrimage to New York City, where she celebrated the holidays with her beloved brothers, niece, nephews, and extended family. Those gatherings — filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness — were the moments she held closest to her heart.
Diana’s adventurous spirit, generous heart, and boundless love for her family and friends will live on in the countless lives she touched. What we will remember most about Diana is not only her accomplishments but her heart. She was generous, thoughtful, and loyal — someone who showed up for those she loved. She celebrated our successes, comforted us in hard times, and created bonds that will last long beyond her time here.
Diana lived fully, and left us with memories we will treasure forever. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Diana will be laid to rest at Skylawn Memorial Park, Half Moon Bay, California. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at 9:00am PDT, and a cemetery service on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 1:00pm PDT.
