Denise was the most amazing strong positive lovely lady I’ve ever known. 😍 Her positive attitude is very inspiring and motivating. She always amazed me with her outlook on life. Don’t take anything for granted and live each moment to its fullest. Denise lived life to the fullest. She was a ray of sunshine and an inspiration. I worked with Denise for 27 years and am deeply saddened at her passing. Some of my fondest memories are when we were commiserating about our kid?s trials and tribulations. These off the cuff discussions normally took place in the restroom at work. I looked forward to visiting with Denise at gatherings like Marianne?s and Mary?s annual holiday fondue party. And I was honored to celebrate Bryan?s birth at the red egg party with Denise and her family and friends. I will miss Denise and her beautiful smile. Dee: I grew up with two brothers and always wished that I had a sister. When I met you and Cyndee in middle school, I finally got my wish! You were the best friend ever and also my “sister.” You were brave, inspirational ,kind, lived life to the fullest, and always knew how to make me laugh. I will never forget all those notes we used to write each other in high school with the code names Strawberry and Cherry, Celery, Lemon, etc. so the guys who got a hold of them had no idea who we were talking about! You were a wonderful roommate…..that year of living together and planning your double wedding with Cyndee was so much fun……I’m so sad that you moved away when you got married! Yet, we still stayed in contact, sharing stories of raising our children; gathering for those Xmas parties where you and Cyndee came up with amazing crafts for our kids to make (I still have all of them!); the get togethers when you were in town; our high school reunions (I’m going to miss you so much at next year’s 45th!); the weekend we spent with you and Jay in Pebble Beach. Thank you soooo much for lending moral support to my brother Randy during his 2 year battle with lung cancer…..I know you two are now reunited and smiling down at us! You were an inspiration to me when I felt too lazy to exercise and I would think, “Hey, Dee has lung cancer and she’s going to Zumba, so I can do this!” I am so glad I was able to visit you a few weeks ago……love you, Dee, to the moon and back! Denise, I am so grateful for the opportunity to have known such a warm and caring person. You had a joie de vivre and albeit too short, you lived a full life as you enjoyed every morsel, minute and memory. You enriched my life with your exuberance. It is so sad to hear Denise’s passing. For the last 20+ years,I alway received the first Christmas card from Denise. I know I will miss Denise a lot I am so sad at this movement the Wong family lost a wonder wife,mother. Rest in peace Denise
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter…all the holidays, Denise LOVED the holidays. Even into adulthood, Denise still made sure her boys had Easter eggs filled with goodies. She always had that special holiday shirt to wear. The 3 greatest loves of her life were Jay, Bryan, and Alan. I always noticed at our 1-1 lunches, she would plan ahead and be sure she wore something that was a previous gift from me as if to say, I remember this was from you. This is only 1 example of her way of showing her love for all her family and friends..we were all blessed with the gift of Denise’s friendship. Love you Denise…Ray, Kyle, and I will miss you dearly and you will continue to live on in our hearts and memories.
We all got together for ?Girls Night Out? (GNO) to celebrate birthdays, paint nights, and even golf for fundraisers, but Denise and my thing was our “movie nights”. We would meet up at Mercado and sometimes eat at Tomatinas before the movie, but usually, we just ate hot dogs and popcorn (with lots of butter) for dinner. At the end of the movie, we would also play ?Siskle and Ebert? and she would say I?m too kind because I always gave one more ?star? than she did. At the end of the movie, she would want to ?chit chat? and we would sit on the bench for at least an hour and just talk about everything. She would always say that was the best part of our outings and I would have to agree. Denise always made sure we planned our next outing before we left. When we got home, we would text each other to say we made it home okay, to have a good night and that we love each other?and that?s how it went every month up until she couldn’t go out anymore. The last time I visited her, we sat in the backyard and did our normal chit chat and took in the beautiful day. It was perfect weather; the breeze was gentle bringing in the faint scent of flowers and she made me realize how much of the simple things we take for granted. That was the day she gave me my ?to do list? of things I needed to get done by year end. One of them was to drive by myself to Bakersfield (long story) and I did it the very next weekend. I could hear her voice saying ?Joanne, I?m so proud of you! You did it!? She always cheered me on and she taught me so much. She truly was the ?wind beneath my wings?. Denise was my very special friend, she was always there for me and I will always love her. Denise, you’ve inspired me to reach out of my “comfort zone” and I’ll remember everything you shared with me. I’ll always be grateful. Miss you and love you, girlfriend. Thank you for everything. So many memories we had together from meeting when Alan & Ryan started playing Zebras in 2000 to celebrating your birthday this year at J Lohr, eating Wine & Waffles! There isn’t enough space to recap all our fun times from basketball games, golf, Las Vegas trips, Girls Night Out, celebrating birthdays, and dancing till we dropped, but our last two trips (our first and last) in 2014 & 2015 to the Central Coast for wine, golf, cupcakes, and your journey “in search of the best clam chowder and fish tacos” come to mind as the best times! I will miss our endless talks and heart-to-hearts on all our drives to anywhere! I will keep your last words to me, pointing me in the right direction, close at heart. Your ever smiling face and your gift of friendship all these years will forever be missed, leaving an amazing void in my heart! But I know you are in good and loving hands now, and watching over all those who love and miss you, smiling and dancing! I love you, miss you, and one day will see you again! Love, Lori
I am so thankful to have known Denise and had her friendship over these many years. She was the one who made it a race to be the first to get the Christmas cards out in the mail and we would wait to see who got it done first each year. She inspired me to do and be more with her love for life, knowledge, family, friends, and the world around her. I remember our times at Crystal Technology working as part of the sales administrative staff. At one point, as a group, Denise, myself, and a few others would go in-line skating at lunch time. We supported our company in the functions they held like holiday parties, baby showers, softball, and also got together outside of work. We worked hard, but also took time to play.
