Clara Marotta's Obituary
Clara Rose Marotta passed on in a manner she always had envisioned—peacefully, at home, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 100 years old. Born in San Francisco, she lived from 1919 to 2020! Clara was married to Vic Marotta for 61 years. They had four children; Nancy, Janetti, Liz and Jeff.
Clara loved all children. She worked as a day care provider in her home for many years. Then she worked in the preschool of the local Methodist Church for almost 40 years. At the age of 80, she became Teacher Clara, an aide in her daughter Liz’s kindergarten/first grade classroom until she retired at the age of 93. She was loved by all students, teachers, staff, and parents.
This is when she became an artist. She had always loved to draw for her family and students. Now she became a student herself, taking art classes at the local Senior Center. Many of us have enjoyed receiving the paintings and cards she designed. Clara touched the heart of so many children and adults alike. Her home grew with many of her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made each of them feel special and deeply loved.
Clara is survived by her four children, over a dozen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She has so many people who have been loved and touched by her warm, fun and positive spirit. She will be sorely missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
