Dear Carol,I really don’t know where to start. There are so many memories. We moved in next to each other in 1984. We had a great time at bbq’s. the 4th of July parties, the boats, the trips we took,(ie Reno, Tahoe, New Zealand and Australia) to name a few. Remember when I called you on an early Saturday morning and I told you to pack your toothbrush and pj’s and we were golng on a little road trip. We headed north and ended up at Clear Lake. Great week-end. Then there was all the Art and wine festivals, the Lagoon in Foster City. Dad loved to go up to your place and enjoy the best dinners. If I mentioned that you were going to fix dinner, he was ready to go. There is no way that I list all the great times we had . You would call me each and every day between 5 and 6. The phone rang at 5:00 today and I expected it to be you. It was Denise. I truly am grateful for all the great menories we had.I was blessed to have you and you family as my family. I feel very lucky that Gary and I were able to visit with Aunt Carol in March 2010 on our trip to San Francisco. I remember going over there with Michelle and Ashley and laughing over old memories. It seemed so easy to reconnect even though we were miles apart. Your mom loved to laugh and laugh we did! It seemed your mom was very happy living close to Michelle and Denise. I could see how much little Ashley loved her grandma and how special her visits were to both of them! I am sure she treasured being a grandma to all of your kids, for she really loved her family.Just remember that your mom will be with you always and will be watching down from heaven on each of you. There is no stronger love than a mother’s and I do think that is a bond that can never be broken! We love all of you and wish we could be with you on the day of the service. I met Carolyn a few times over the years at Ashley’s birthday parties or Easter at Randy and Michele’s and other party events with the family. Carolyn was so nice, so funny, and a great cook. I enjoyed her specialties she was always asked to bring. I am sadden by the news of her passing and my heart goes out to all of her family and friends. Mom, I will never forget you and (I love you more than you will ever know). Those were the last words you said to me! I remember we had so many fun days going shopping together, out to lunch, street fairs and festivals with Joanne. I remember when we took you to Cambria and toured Hearst Castle and you loved it. You were there with Dad and stood up for us in Hawaii when we got married. So many memories are there for Noah and I. I think back to the 4th of July’s out on the boat in Foster City watching the fireworks—that was great!! I remember when Dad and Noah talked me into flying in a 4-seater plane (Dad was the pilot of course) and we flew over the San Francisco Bridge and it was the most perfect, clear and sunny day and Mom was taking all kinds of pictures and then we get on the ground and Mom forgot to put film in the camera—and we were so mad at her! Mom would make me my favorite birthday dinner every year–fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cream gravy, which I never made because it was a special thing that was just from her. So many holidays that we have shared and now will be so missed. And let’s not forget the football!! Every season, you and Noah would banter back and fourth about the Raiders and Broncos, and I would just roll my eyes and go–Not again!! Sometimes I would just leave the house and go shopping just to get away from you both screaming at the TV for 4+ hours! Noah will really miss that. Even yesterday, he was saying that you would have been calling him Monday night because it is the season opener for both teams and you guys would have be teasing each other for sure. I keep picking up the phone to call you and then realize that you are not there anymore. I know that you are at peace now in heaven with Grandma and Eddy. I’m so glad that you got to spend time with and know our beautiful daughter Kaitlyn and she truly loved you dearly. You will always be in my heart, Mom. How lucky I was to know Carol for 55 years. She was like a sister to me and we shared lots of memories together. This is a very sad time for her family. Always know, she loved each of you unconditionally. Thank you to her friends in the apartment complex, especially Mary and Dan, and Laura. Carol spoke of you often. We used to laugh and say she had finally found the perfect place to live. Tom, you brought a lot of happiness and laughter into Carol’s life. She so enjoyed your football rivalry! Remember God is very good to us especially at times like this. It is a blessing that God took her home. Although it’s been many years since I’ve seen Aunt Carol, I still remember her love and hospitality on vacations to visit her. I do remember her cooking and everyone hanging out in the kitchen. Through the years, she always remembered me on my birthday and I could count on a beautiful “niece” card and a heartfelt handwritten note to arrive faithfully in the mail. She was like a sister to my mother, Dorothy, and I know Mom is missing their long phone conversations full of friendship and laughter. Our deepest sympathy to our Caron cousins. It started about 10 years ago at Lucky’s with a Bologna with Swiss Cheese Sandwich on Rye, with a little Mayo and Mustard; not only did Carolyn knew how to make a sandwich,she also knew how to become my best friend.We talked on a daily basis about everything, from Football (Broncos), hercoleslaw and of course her killer “German Potato Salad.” Hope to see you again on the “other side”, you always told me, “once you have me as a friend, you’ll never get rid of me”.My deepest condolences to Carolyn’s Family.##imported-begin##Thomas Schweigler##imported-end##
Carol was a wonderful and caring person. I enjoyed many BBQs in her backyardin Foster City along with the infamous Pig Roasts in CA.
