Bac An was a very kind and brave woman. She is like a second mother to me and has given me all mental support whenever I came to SF. We will miss her dearly.
My connection with Bác An began with her daughter Evelyne whom I have known in Vietnam when we were elementary school classmates. We became close when we found each other again in the US in the 70's. While studying in upstate New York , I would spend my summers with Bác An's family on Fullerton Street. Since then Bác An has played an important role in my life, giving me moral support and strength whenever I needed it.
I will miss her infinite kindness which she bestowed upon not only her family and her friends but also upon her clients when she was working as a social worker for the City and County of San Francisco.
I will miss her soft spoken voice which would give me "pearls" of wisdom and of a brighter outlook on life.
I will miss her deeply.
Bac An is an amazing and pioneering woman! She was courageous in going to the US and did a wonderful job raising her children. I always appreciated how kind she was with my siblings and me. Bac An was funny and not afraid to share her opinions. I will miss her and know that she will always be watching over her children.
