Lourdes Tan
December 2, 1951 - July 20, 2020
On July 20, 2020, at the age of 68, Lourdes Tan passed away after a long battle with health issues. Lourdes never stopped fighting and remained positive despite her illnesses. She was a self-proclaimed diva, full of energy and life, and always willing to give. Lourdes was an active member in her local community as well as in the Filipino-American community. Her volunteer work included membership and active participation with the Filipino-American Association of Foster City, St. Scholastica’s Alumnae Association of Northern California, the beloved Spice Divas musical group, ALMAS (Ateneo, La Salle, Maryknoll, Assumption, St. Scholastica, San Beda), and the Foster City Historical Society. Her 13-year career with San Mateo County's Human Services Agency was not considered “work” by her, as she enjoyed every minute of it. She was once quoted as saying, “I’m meant to give inspiration to others,” and she did. Lourdes led a life full of service and friendship and touched everyone who met her. Lourdes is survived by her husband Jauw, her three children—Chris, Cheryl, and Catherine—two grandchildren, Maverick and Harley, her sister Susan, and her niece Miranda. Her funeral will be a private ceremony for limited family and friends. The family asks that no flower or gift donations are made. ***THE FAMILY ASKS THAT NO FLOWER OR GIFT DONATIONS ARE MADE.***
