Zhen Guang Gu's Obituary
Mr. Zhen Guang Gu, the most loving husband, father and grandfather, fought a courageous battle, with great optimism, against liver cancer and stomach cancer in the last three years, passed away at 11:28am on March 16th, 2014 in San Francisco. He was 82 years old.Mr. Zhen Guang Gu is survived by his wife Ms. Guo Zhen Feng, his beloved granddaughter Eileen Gu, daughter Yan Gu, son Hai Gu, daughter in law Rebecca Chen, and his granddaughters Unie and Eyda Gu.Mr. Zhen Guang Gu was born on March 3rd, 1932 to Mr. Yong Sho Gu and Ms. Sho Quan Chen in Shanghai, China. He was married to Ms. Guo Zhen Feng on December 1, 1958.Mr. Zhen Guang Gu graduated from Northeast University in China and retired as the most decorated chief electrical engineer of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China.Mr. Zhen Guang Gu, the most patient and considerate man, was an accomplished poet, calligrapher and painter. He had passions for knowledge, world events, beauty, music, art, and sports. He played on the university soccer team, and taught himself skiing as well as golf when he was 75 years old.His love, kindness, smile, wisdom, sense of humor, strength will forever be in our hearts. He took pride in being “the big tree” of the family. He supported, provided, and protected his family all his life.Mr. Zhen Guang Gu is in heaven now with his predeceased daughter, Ling Gu. They will always be with us, watching over us and protecting us as angels. We love and miss them so much!!!A Funeral Service will be held on March 28th 2014 at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo California.
