Yuan Zhang's Obituary
Yuan Zhang passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 44 years old.
Yuan was born in Beijing, China in 1976. She earned a Bachelor degree from Harbin Engineering University, China in 1999. She received her Master degree from McGill University, Canada in 2003, and her PhD degree from University of Delaware, USA in 2008, respectively. She worked in the IT industry as a software engineer, and was with IBM, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and VMware.
Yuan was passionate and purposeful in life. She was very talented in many things, including gardening and fine art. She also kept an immaculate house, and enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She always took care of family and friends, even when she was battling with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Yuan is survived by her husband, Long Chen; her son, Ethan; her parents, Xiufeng and Jingzhi, and her sister, Xiaolin.
A celebration of Yuan’s life will be 10am to 12pm, Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Skylawn Memorial Park. Flowers and condolence may be offered at Highway 92 at Skyline Blvd. San Mateo, CA 94402.
