Yong Payton's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Yong Son Payton Yong Payton was born to Duk Sil Pak and Do Soo Kim on December 2, 1947 in Seoul, Korea. She was the eldest of three children. Yong married and moved to the United States in 1969. From this union came her two beautiful and beloved children, Samantha and Earnest. She was blessed to be able to see both her children grow into adulthood, graduate from college, and marry. Yong passed away peacefully at the young age of 62 on June 10, 2010 at UCSF Medical Center after a long battle with Myeloma. Yong touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. She enjoyed traveling and listening to classical music. Those who knew Yong well knew her to be a tiger. Her love for her family was her driving force; she often held her family together. Like a tiger, Yong fought fiercely against her Myeloma until God called her home. She will be missed dearly and deeply, but it comforts those who love her to know she is no longer suffering and is in the hands of the Lord. Yong will forever be loved and remembered by her mother Duk Sil Pak; brother Yong Nam Kim; sister Yong Son Lewis; daughter Samantha Payton Cotton and her husband Crandall Cotton of Bowie, Maryland; son Earnest E. Payton, Jr. and his wife Desiree Payton of Washington, D.C; her treasured grandchildren Cierra Cotton, Korey Cotton, and Kendrick Cotton; her nephew Hyung Joong Kim and his wife Chong A Kim of San Francisco, California; and her great nieces Sun-Vivian Kim and Sun-Valery Kim; along with the countless family and friends who were blessed to have known her.Services and burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 18, 2010 at Lifemark Center, Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 at Route 35, San Mateo, CA.When I’m GoneWhen I come to the end of my journeyAnd I travel my last weary mileJust forget if you can, that I ever frownedAnd remember only the smileForget unkind words I have spokenRemember some good I have doneForget that I ever had heartacheAnd remember I’ve had loads of funForget that I’ve stumbled and blunderedAnd sometimes fell by the wayRemember I have fought some hard battlesAnd won, ere the close of the dayThen forget to grieve for my goingI would not have you sad for a dayBut in summer just gather some flowersAnd remember the place where I layAnd come in the shade of eveningWhen the sun paints the sky in the westStand for a few moments beside meAnd remember only my besthttp://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/SFQRZ2R7R3FB54ZY
