In Loving Memory of Yet Fon Wong
September 7, 1926 - October 16, 2025
Yet Fon Wong passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in her San Jose, California home. She was born near Canton, China. She was the fifth child in a large family of 7 sisters and 1 brother.
In 1947, Yet married Lipp Goong Wong in Hong Kong. In 1948, she came to the United States and settled in Seattle, Washington. The family lived in Seattle’s Chinatown until 1954, when they purchased property with a grocery store, attached house and a large lot where a 3-unit apartment building was later built. The family operated the grocery store until they retired in 1978, and moved to San Jose, California.
After moving to San Jose, Yet and Lipp enjoyed walks in the neighborhood and to the near by stores, meeting many new friends along the way. During her retirement, Yet enjoyed traveling with her family and had the opportunity to visit her home village in China. She loved cruising and traveled to Alaska, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Yet is survived by her 3 sons, 2 daughters, 5 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 6 great grandsons and 11 great granddaughters.
