Wilma “Willie” Taylor GeraniosBorn: Wilma Marie Taylor, June 9th 1943 in Inglewood, California; she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on September 29th 2011.She became known as Willie after her 5th grade teacher, Mr. Hershman, gave her the nickname. Willie attended Warren Lane and Clyde Woodward Elementary Schools, Monroe Junior High, and graduated from Morningside High School in 1961 in Inglewood.She met her future husband, Alex Geranios, at a business convention in Los Angeles. Willie and Alex married March 14th, 1964, at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Los Angeles.Together with their boys, they traveled the United States, Canada, Europe, Hawaii, Japan, and Alex’s family’s homeland - Greece.Willie spent her career in the interior design industry, and had a love and passion for tap dancing.Willie leaves behind a husband, Alexander George Geranios, and two sons: Peter Alexander Geranios and James Alexander Geranios, both born in San Francisco.In 1968, the Geranios’ moved to San Mateo, California, where they raised their family, and have resided ever since.Willie and Alex enjoyed spending time with loved ones at their vacation home in Grass Valley, California.Peter, his wife Lillian, and son Alexander, reside in Austin, Texas. James, his wife Christy, their son Cameron and daughter Taylor, reside in Woodside.Willie also leaves behind a loving sister, Donna Taylor Jacobs, of Huntington Beach, California, nieces and nephews, a large community of friends and relatives, and loving and caring neighbors.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Wilma’s name to: Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, in Belmont, California, Mission Hospice of San Mateo, or the American Cancer Society.We’ll miss you Willie.
