William Harold Harrington's Obituary
Born to William & Theone, Hal and his two younger siblings were raised on a small farm in San Francisco. He graduated from Balboa High School in 1946 where he was a member of the ROTC. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Johnson in 1948. They moved to San Mateo in 1950 where they raised their daughters. He worked in the glazier trade for many years, working with men he respected and admired, earning theirs in return. He was a master wood worker, history buff and an avid reader who also took great pleasure in music & films, sharing his passions with those around him. Bill was a loving & thoughtful husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward, sister Theone and his wife of 61 years, Barbara. He is survived by children Karen (Dan) Silver of Spokane, WA, Laurie (Dennis) Thomas of Bend, OR; grandchildren John (Sveta) Silver, Lindsay (Eric) Naes, Darrell (Rachel) Silver, Brooke (Josh) Sherwood; great-grandchildren Tanner, Kaitlyn, Weston, Michael, Holly & Colton; and his brother-in-law Rex. A funeral service will be held 11:00 Friday, Sept. 9th at Sky Lawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.
