Wayne Beban's Obituary
Wayne Beban passed away at the ripe old age of 40+42. A good long run and more than most of us expected but far too soon for those of us left behind. Born and raised in San Francisco, he was a long-time resident of San Carlos.Wayne was many things: soldier, football player, police officer, later-in-life college graduate, security professional. But mostly he was Wayne, Dad, Pop, Brother and Uncle Wayne. We’ll miss his sarcastic wit, keen intelligence and fierce protectiveness. He didn’t like strangers much but he really loved his family.Preceded in death by granddaughter Leyla, another voracious reader; brother Bob, sister June and sister-in-law, Bonnie. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years and the love of his life, Beverly; grateful children Marc (Jessica), Kim, Krista (Liam) and Jan; grandchildren to whom he was a doting Pop, Jake, Tessa, Ryan, Hallie and Kenna; brothers Alan and Steve (Cathy); sister Marylou (Leah); sister-in-law Vivian and many nieces and nephews who were a big part of his life.We will miss you and wish we could have had more.A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 26th at 1:00 pm at Skylawn Funeral Home Hwy 92 @ Skyline Blvd San Mateo, CA 94402In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Leyla Beban Young Authors Foundation (bluefire.org) or your favorite charity.
