Wai Sun Chu, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. Born on September 12, 1930, in China, he journeyed first to Hong Kong before settling in San Francisco over 50 years ago, where he built a rich and enduring legacy. A talented tailor by trade, Wai Sun devoted many years to his craft, infusing every stitch with care and precision. In his leisure time, he delighted in the quiet pleasures of fishing and the strategic challenge of Chinese chess.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mimi Chu, his sons, Norman Chu and Glenn Chu, his daughter, Joyce Lee, his son-in-law, James Lee, his granddaughters, Jasmine Lee and Waverly Chu, and his grandson, Noah Chu.
Wai Sun Chu will be cherished forever for his childlike innocence—a rare and heartwarming gift that brightened the lives of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, 888 Lifemark Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019, on March 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
