Virginia Tealdi's Obituary
Virginia 'Honey' Tealdi, aged 90, died surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in Pacifica, CA.Virginia was born in Jewel, Kansas, on June 8, 1921. She moved to Oakland, California in 1939, where she worked in the grocery business and was an avid softball player. She met and married her husband, Louis in 1942.Virginia and her family were among the early residents of Pacifica, buying their home on Nelson Avenue in 1948. While her children were young she, along with many friends and other volunteers, organized the school lunch program. She was involved in many activities raising funds for the newly established schools. She was a member of the Soroptimist organization and Mizpah.Virginia had a long career with Bank of America. After retirement, she and Lou enjoyed the activities of the Moose Lodge in Pacifica. She also volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank and served on several church committees.She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, brothers Doyle Lavern and Duane Byron Crites. She is survived by her daughter, Louella De Mers of San Jose, her son, Steven Tealdi of Placerville, her nephews Robert Crites of Falls Church, VA, Jim Crites of Golden, CO, John Crites of Scotts Valley, Fred Tealdi of Oakland, her niece Judy Fontana of San Bruno, her granddaughters Carrye De Mers of El Granada, Lisa Boccadoro of Folsom, Donna Chetner of Elk Grove, Treva Shortes Saini of Granite Bay, eight great-grandchildren, and her long time friend and caregiver Cheryl Jimno of Pacifica.New Life Christian Fellowship Church at 1125 Terra Nova Boulevard, Pacifica, where Virginia was a member, will be hosting her Memorial Services on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated.
