Virginia L. LactawenMay 21, 1932 – March 1, 2011Resident of San BrunoVirginia passed away peacefully in her home on March 1, 2011. She will be deeply missed. Born in the province-San Clemente, Tarlac, Philippines, May 21, 1932 to Mariano and Cecilia La Torre, she is the second to the youngest child.Virginia fell in love with Bernabe Lactawen and they married Sept 1954 and arrived in the US shortly thereafter. Virginia was employed briefly at the Jewish Home for the Aged. She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary, (Ginnie, Elizabeth deceased), Sons David and Bernabe, Jr.; Grandsons Ronel and Jorel Jose, Jann Derrick Lactawen,; Grand daughters Karissa and Janessa Lactawen. Her favorite past time was card games, telling jokes and making people laugh. She enjoyed cooking in the kitchen for her grand kids and family; filipino dishes such as adobo, pinakbet and pancit. In honor of Virginia's life, family and friends are invited to attend a Rosary and viewing service which will be held at 4:00PM to 8:00pm on March 7,2011 Lifemark Center at Skylawn Memorial Park in the Crystal Springs Chapel, San Mateo followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM on March 8th at SkylawnMemorial Park. After the services, Friends and Family are welcome to a Reception at Jade Dragon, 2638 Junipero Serra Blvd., DC at 1:00PM. "We love you very much. God bless you and the lord be with you always".
