Vina "Toots" Troyer's Obituary
Vina Pearl Troyer, or Toots to all who called her friend, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family on February 1, 2020.
Vina was born in Southern California on April 20, 1950. She was one of six children and is survived by her siblings, Beverly, Rosemary, Gloria and Richard. Her brother John passed a few years ago.
Vina met her husband Gary in 1968. Vina, being a unique name, is one that Gary could not remember while dating, so he called her Toots and it stuck. Toots was one of the most generous people you’d ever meet. Her home was open to all, whether it be family, friends or friends of her children. She was a counselor and a good friend who loved to laugh and would always have an ear or a hug to anyone in need. Toots believed that family was not just biological and if she called you family, you were family.
Toots is survived by her loving husband Gary of 50+ years, her children, Cindy, Chris, Claudia, Manette, Ben and her grandchildren, Daniel, Breanna, Alexa, Benito & Celyn. She will be reunited in Heaven with her son Danny. Toots leaves behind nieces, nephews and cousins that she adored and who filled her heart with immense joy.
Her family would like to thank her wonderful Doctors and Nurses at Kaiser and Mission Hospice for providing her with compassionate care that went beyond all we expected.
