Victor Tak Yuen Lee's Obituary
Mr. Victor Lee passed away unexpectedly while playing basketball on November 20, 2016 in Mountain View, California at the young age of 55. Victor is survived by his wife, Mei Wuu Lee, and his children, Alvis and Christina Lee. Victor was born on January 24, 1961 in Hong Kong, China to Boon Man Lee and Rose P.Y. Lee as the youngest of six children. He and his family immigrated to the USA when he was 11. Victor attended Whitney E. Young Magnet High School in Chicago, and later graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics in 1983. He also had many certifications, including CISSP, CEH, CSPO, CSM, and PMP.Victor began his career at AT&T in Chicago and later met his wife Mei when she was based in the city as a flight attendant. Victor and Mei then moved to Cupertino, California, and married on September 9, 1989 (09-09-89). Together they were blessed with two wonderful children, Alvis in 1990, followed by Christina in 1993. After moving to Silicon Valley, Victor has held several positions in high-tech companies, including NASA, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, and most recently Intel as a Technical Product Engineer. During his career, Victor was awarded Engineer of the Year at AT&T, Employee of the Year at Sun Microsystems, and named Role Model of the Marketing Team at Hewlett-Packard.Victor had exceptional taste in food and loved to eat all Asian cuisines, especially Cantonese cuisines. He enjoyed learning new things, watching Hong Kong dramas, catching Pokemon, and his favorite hobby was playing and following basketball. Most of all, Victor valued spending time with his family. He had great respect and devotion to support and care for his parents as well as Mei's parents. Victor was a mentor to others, and he was known for his generosity, his sincere and loving nature, his humble, level-headed approach to life, and his sense of humor that brought joy to everyone he knew. His family and friends knew Victor for his beautiful heart and remember him as the kindest man they have ever met. Victor was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects to Victor at the funeral service at Crystal Springs Chapel inside Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Hwy 92 at Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94002.
