Vera Pinosky's Obituary
Vera Johnson Pinosky Our mom, Vera Pinosky, resident of San Mateo, passed away at the age of 94, on Oct. 8, 2011, in her home with her family by her side. She was a first generation American, born in S.F. on Aug. 7, 1917. Vera was the daughter of the late Amanda & Werner Johnson, Swedish immigrants. She was sister to the late Walter Johnson, Vivian Unini, & Virginia Taylor. Vera was the widow of the late Orville Jack Pinosky, a retired S.F. fireman. She is survived by her loving children: Walt (Trish), Deanna Hisaw(Charlie Sexton), Linda Rice(Don), Joanne Smith(Bob) Grandchildren: Sandi, Dawn(James), Daniel, Jeff(Jeanine), Michele, Ellen(Ricky), Cookie, and Shafer Gr. Grandchildren:Matt, Sarah, Nicole, Brittney, Cameron, Amanda, & Emily, sister-in-law Maureen Johnson and many nieces and nephews as well as family in Sweden and Finland. Vera attended S.F. schools and was a proud member of the Balboa Alumni Assc. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Skylawn Memorial Park on Fri., Oct. 14th, between 4 & 8 p.m. and to funeral services and reception at Skylawn on Sunday , Oct. 16th at 12 noon. Donations in Vera’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326. Always in our hearts, we will miss you, Ma.
