Valerie Ann Ross' Obituary
Valerie Ann Ramey, born on March 4, 1943 in Sacramento to the late Regina Ramey and the late Raymond Ramey, passed away at age 75 on January 7, 2019, in Burlingame, California.Valerie spent her very early years in Sacramento, but spent most of her childhood and early adult life in San Francisco, where her extended family had lived since the late 1800s. Valerie’s great-grandparent’s were immigrants who came to San Francisco from Poland, and Valerie’s maternal grandparents had met in Golden Gate Park after the 1906 earthquake. Valerie grew up in the Sunset District and graduated from Herbert Hoover Junior High and Abraham Lincoln High School. Valerie was a resident of Foster City for many years, and eventually retired to Belmont, California after her children were grown. In her later years she could often be found playing Bingo with her friends at the Veteran’s Memorial Senior Center in Redwood City.Valerie was the adored mother of Laura Ross (Joseph Keel), Debra Layton (Tim) and Brian Ross (Laurie Stubbs). Cherished grandmother of Charlotte Gonzales, Kyle Ross (LeighAnn), Joshua Ross (Kelby), Eileen Paguio and Markinna McConico. Great-grandmother to Kaden, Kooper, Nolan, Konner and Rollie.Donations in Valerie’s name to St. Jude are welcome and appreciated.Friends and family are welcome to attend the funeral service on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Skylawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402.
