Twan An Lim's Obituary
Twan An Lim, 85, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. He was born on Friday, November 29, 1935 in Rangoon, Burma, the eldest of seven children of Yun Chong Lim and Chwing New Kho.
In Burma, he worked at the family business manufacturing shirts. He married his wife, Nancy in 1961, and soon later started his own family. In 1979, he immigrated his family to San Francisco, CA in pursuit of higher education and greater opportunities for his children. He resided in the San Francisco Bay Area ever since.
The joy Twan An brought his family and friends, especially to his grandchildren, will be deeply missed. Many will fondly remember his warmth and the gentle smile he effortlessly carried everywhere he went. He was resilient against any challenges he faced, and was always there to support the dreams of his loved ones.
Twan An was passionate about gardening and loved to spend his days tending to his garden, the centerpiece being a koi pond containing over 100 koi. He always looked forward to celebrating holidays and his birthday, as he was happiest when simply spending quality time with his loved ones. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren’s achievements and successes.
Twan An is survived by his wife Nancy; his six children Prislene (Sammy), Eugene (Mona), Calvin (Emma), Henry, Bruce (Cathy), and Meecho (Edmund); and his five grandchildren Derrick, Sean, Jasmine, Jiana, and Isabel.
The memorial service will be held at Skylawn Memorial in San Mateo County on Thursday, February 18, 2021. We invite those who will be unable to attend in-person to join the funeral service via the Zoom link below, starting at 10:15 AM.

For those joining the funeral service in-person, there regretfully will not be a post-service banquet in consideration of COVID-19. Bottled water will be provided during the service, however.
