Touran Dokht Jalali's Obituary
Mrs. Touran Dokht Jalali passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024, at the age of 96 in Palo Alto, California. Born in Esfahan to Effatolmolouk and Esmmail Mirza Jalali, she was a direct descendant of the Qajar Dynasty. The start of her life was shadowed by the passing of her mother while she was an infant. Her life was brightened when she married and was cherished deeply by her late husband, Taghi Jalali, for a remarkable seventy years. She was able to witness the marriage of all her children and spend time with 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Throughout her life, she resided primarily in Esfahan, Tehran, and Menlo Park.
She leaves behind a legacy through her nine devoted children: Shahin Dokht, Mahin Dokht, Parvin Dokht, Amir Arfa, Amir Hossein, Simin Dokht, Ardehshir, Souzan Dokht, and Sayeh; alongside her grandchildren: Kereshmeh, Karman, Negar Shirazi; Hedieh, Khoosheh, Maryam Sanglaji; Sanaz, Saman Mirkhani; Darya, Yalda, Caitlin, Sogol, Ardalan, Negin Jalali; Chloé, Nicolas Morali; Behrad Raassi, Raha Heywood, Sara Harari, and Daryoush Ahanchian.
Mrs. Jalali's passion for cooking, reading, poetry, and card games was only surpassed by her joy in convening family gatherings. She was known for making delicious food and her sharp intellect. Her ability to remember people and events in detail was astonishing and made her a great storyteller at gathering. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
