Tou Lee (Mrs. Chan)Our beloved mother Tou Lee (李窕), was born in 1928, on the 23rd day of the 5th month at Wu’an village (梧垵), Quanzhou city (泉州), Fujian province (福建), China. She passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2014 in San Jose, California at the age of 85. She lived in North Point and Causeway Bay in Hong Kong for the next 28 years. During that period, she learned to speak Cantonese and successfully raised six more children and one granddaughter. She then immigrated to the United States in 1980 and was a long-time resident of San Jose. Our mother was a hard-working person who dedicated her whole life to supporting her husband, raising seven children, and assisted in raising most of the grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Buddhist. She always kept in her heart the essence of the teaching of Buddha.Our mother is truly the foundation that holds our big family together over the years. She is an ordinary person with an extraordinary spirit and memories of her will be eternally treasured by all of us.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, at the Skylawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, San Mateo, immediately followed by the burial of the casket in the Eternity Garden.
