Timothy Ray Arterburn's Obituary
Tim was born in Vancouver BC, Canada on June 21, 1958.
The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona for 20 years, and Tim grew up on a ranch enjoying the 4-H program with horses, dogs, and cattle.
He graduated Greenway High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1976
Tim attended BYU 1976-1977
Then the family moved to San Francisco (Bay Area), and Tim started working as a groom for his Uncle Buster Pollard at Bay Meadows racetrack.
Tim served LDS mission 1977
After returning from his LDS mission, Tim worked as an assistant trainer for his father, Jack Arterburn.
Eventually Tim became a trainer on his own merit, and was very successful.
Tim met Josie Curtis in 1977, and became a very close grandmotherly friend. Tim rented a room in Josie’s home in Hayward Hills. They remained close until she passed in 2003.
Tim went to Las Vegas for the LDS single adult conference when he met Patti in 1998, they were married in 2001. They remain together for 14 years.
Tim knew he had to redefine himself after leaving the racetrack, thus returned to college to attended the University of Las Vegas, and BYU distant learning, was on the honor roll each year working to complete his Bachelor degree.
Tim attended Schneider trucking school to receive his CDL license, which would later open many employment opportunities.
In Las Vegas, he worked for Coach USA. In San Francisco, he worked for Pure Luxury Transportation.
In 2019, Tim met Gena Gunderson, fell in love, and remained together until he passed.
He leaves behind his mother, Sue Ann Arterburn, his sisters, Jacalene Calvario and Tami Baze, and brother Lonnie Arterburn.
Tim died on 6/7/22 at the age of 63.
