Thomas Simpkins
Thomas Simpkins passed away peacefully on the morning of August 3, 2025, at the age of 89. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Patsy Simpkins; his children Robert, Leonard (Olga), Janice, Johnny (Tina); and he was preceded in death by His beloved son, Steven (Rose). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Johnny Jr., Tabitha, and Dominic; his great-granddaughter Winnie; and a large extended Family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Thomas accepted Christ at an early age, he was raised in the Methodist Faith and had strong Faith in Jesus Christ his Savior and Redeemer.
Born in 1935 in Oklahoma, Thomas was the fourth of seven children born to the union of Rebecca and Spencer Simpkins. After proudly serving in the United States Army for several of years, Thomas traveled many places before meeting the love of his life, Patsy, in Fresno California. The couple later Settled in San Mateo, California, where they built a life and raised their family.
Thomas dedicated fifty years of his life to the construction field and also worked At NASA Ames. A man of many talents, he enjoyed sports, gardening, building houses and creating projects from scrap wood. Known as a true jack of trades, he was a great provider, teacher and source of inspiration to those around him.
Those who knew Thomas will remember him as loving, kind, devoted and fun to be around. His beautiful soul touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
