Sze Wah Ley's Obituary
Sze Wah (Eva) Ley passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 19th at the age of 63. Eva is survived by her husband Jose Ley; daughter Angela Low and her husband Terance; daughter Tina O’Hara and her husband Michael; son Edmond Ley and his wife Milan; grandchildren Tiana and Jaden Low, Drew and Nolan O’Hara, and Matthew and Ethan Ley; mother Sui Wan Tong; siblings Debbie Tong, Wilson Tong, Nancy Kwan and Wing Tong. Her father, Teen Gong Tong, preceded Eva in death. Eva was born in China and moved to Hong Kong at the age of 13 to attend school. She immigrated to the United States shortly after marrying Jose in 1971. This September would have marked their 40th anniversary. They started a family in Oakland, CA and moved to Union City, CA in 1979. Eva retired in the summer of 2000 and moved to Dublin, CA to live closer to her children. Eva was truly a selfless person. While living in Hong Kong, she provided financial assistance to her family back in China. She sponsored her mother and siblings to the United States to help them live the American dream. She provided unconditional love and support to her children and with the assistance of her husband, spent her retirement years caring for her six grandchildren. Eva enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, gardening, and travelling.
