Steven Metro Bilycia's Obituary
Steven Metro Bilycia was born on September 3rd, 1963 in Santa Clara, CA to Marian and Steven Bilycia. On February 14th 2008 he married Josephine Schooler. Steven graduated from Buchser High School in Santa Clara. He then began working for the City of San Jose as a Communications installer for the next 25 years as of June 22nd 2012. On April 10, 2010, the Fire Department honored and recognized Steven with a Class A Devoted Service Commendation GSD Radio Communication Award. Steven was also a lifetime member of the San Jose Historical Police Car Society. In June 2012, he was one of a team that restored a 1988 Dodge Diplomat Police vehicle to its original condition. It won the First Place Award at the Ripon competition. Steven had an innate love and passion for automobiles, and was gifted in the ability of repairing and rebuilding cars, electronics, and mechanical devices. Specifically, car engines, computers, clocks and locks and keys. Basically, anything that was broken, he could fix! Steven enjoyed music, in the last few years he started singing Karaoke, and learned Ballroom dancing. Steven loved to help others in need of his expertise and at a moment’s notice, as indicated by all who knew him. Stevens friends and family describe him as dignified, conscientious, and trustworthy. ‘Keep it simple’ is a phrase that could be used to describe how Steven lived his life. Steven is survived by: Marian Bilycia, Mother- Santa Clara, CA Sharon Bilycia deDiego, Sister – Santa Clara, Ashlee deDiego, Niece – Santa Clara, CA Josephine Schooler Bilycia, Wife- San Jose, CA Stepchildren- Theresa Gatti, San Francisco, CA, Timothy and Ardelyn Gatti – San Jose, CA Grandchildren – Byron Kang, Modesto, CA, Patrick Gatti – San Jose, CA Predeceased by: Steven Bilycia, Father- Santa Clara, CA 01.16.03. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 29th, 2012 at 3:00p.m. at St. Justin’s Catholic Church, 2655 Homestead Road, Santa Clara, CA. Reception to follow at the American Legion, Post 419, 958 Homestead Road, Santa Clara, CA.
