Soon Ja Har's Obituary
Soon Ja Har, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 4th, 2008. She was 57 years old. She was born in South Korea where she eventually met her husband, Doo Yong Har. They soon started a family and, with little to their name, immigrated to the San Jose area in 1976. She worked in various clerical jobs until she entered the U. S. Postal Service. There she worked for the remaining 28 years, bringing her strong work ethic, humility, and gentle smile to the office every day. Her career in the Postal Service was distinguished with many service awards and regional responsibilities. She and her husband lived in the Sacramento area during the last few years. Soon Ja's primary passion in life was her family. She loved her husband and two children immensely, and almost everything she did was to nurture and care for them. She was a woman of high integrity, unending generosity, and incredible diligence. She left an indelible imprint on the lives of everyone she met, and we will all deeply, deeply miss her.Soon Ja is survived by her husband, her children and their spouses, John and Hye Jin Har, Drs. Un Hui and John Kao, and her four grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 12th, at the Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.
