Simon Chung Hang Wong's Obituary
Simon Chung Hang Wong, 73, was a dedicated husband, selfless father, and caring friend. He passed peacefully on January 29, 2021, 1:02 a.m., at Seton Medical Center in Daly City, CA.
Simon was born on January 23, 1948 in Hong Kong to Che-Pang Wong and Shiu-Yee Lau. He was the youngest of six children — Jack, Horatio, Margaret, Victor, Antony, and Simon — and well-loved by everyone in the family. He moved to San Francisco, CA in 1964 and supported himself through college, earning his B.A. from Golden Gate University and obtaining his certification as a Public Accountant in 1978. He owned his accounting practice for almost 40 years, serving countless friends and clients throughout the Bay Area.
He married Angel Wong on August 18, 1988, and is survived by their two daughters Joanna and Jennifer, to both of whom he devoted all his love.
Simon was a strong and silent man, but when he did speak, it was always with humor, humility, and intelligence. He lived his fullest life through travel, good food, fishing, photography, playing the erhu (Chinese violin), and learning everything there was a book about. He brought joy to everyone in his life, and will be missed by all who knew him.
His service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, 2 p.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA. His friends and family are invited to join virtually; please contact Angel or Joanna for details.
