Siew Kee Seow's Obituary
Mr. Seow Siew Kee passed away on April 16, 2011 in San Francisco, California at the age of 77 after a short illness. Born on May 3, 1934 in Singapore to Seow Pek Hong and Lim Kim Wah, he was the eldest son of 11 children. Mr. Seow was a thoughtful caretaker to all of his younger siblings. Although he aspired to further his education, Siew Kee was forced by the family's stressful economic situation to diligently work to support his large family. Throughout his life, Mr. Seow worked various part-time jobs while attending school. After delivering newspapers and milk, Siew Kee earned a scholarship and many awards for his athletic talents in both football and basketball. Upon his high school graduation, he left Singapore and moved to China. In China, Siew Kee was hired as a sports teacher in an elementary school in Nanjing. It was there in Nanjing that he met and married the love of his life Keok King Fong on April 29, 1962. Later that same year, Siew Kee, his new bride Keok King and their newborn baby girl Jenny moved to Hong Kong. The newly formed family faced many difficulties with their move because neither could speak Cantonese. Mr. Seow became a salesperson at a local timber company and his wife worked at a semi conductor factory. Siew Kee and Keok King blessed themselves with a total of four children; Jenny Seow, the eldest was born on October 28, 1962; Seow Wah Kin came second on January 16, 1964, Ricky Seow was born on September 14, 1967 and Eva Seow came along on August 26, 1968.Siew Kee Seow is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years, Keok King Fong and their four children; Jenny Seow, Seow Wah Kin, Ricky Seow and Eva Seow; their spouses, Eva Luk, Kathy Seow and Li Wing Sum. He is also survived by his five adoring grandchildren; Marco Seow, Rachel Li, Kristy Li, Seow Cheuk Hin and Isabella Seow. Services will be held in the Pacific Chapel of the Lifemark Center at Skylawn Memorial Park on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:30 am.
