Shu Qiang Liu's Obituary
Shu Qiang Liu, 87 of San Mateo, CA passed away on Friday, 8/9/19 after a tough, year-long battle with throat cancer.The funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, 8/17/19 at Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo. Burial will follow the funeral service at Skylawn Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Skylawn Funeral Home.Shu Qiang was born in Shanghai, China on 12/4/31. He was a proud graduate of Beijing Institute of Technology in 1957.Shu Qiang was married to Linda Zheng in 1971 and they were married for 18 years.He worked as a mechanical engineer for 30 years in China. After retirement, in 1985, he immigrated with his wife and two children to Honolulu, Hawaii to reunite with his sisters and their families. In Honolulu, he was active in the Chinese American community through serving in the Lung Doo Benevolent Society. He moved to San Mateo in 2011. In San Mateo, he enjoyed his time with his family, close friends he met in San Mateo, and friends at the Self-Help for the Elderly, as well as reading, photography, dancing, drawing, and painting.Shu Qiang was predeceased by his parents and two brother-in-laws. He is survived by his three sisters and brother-in-law, ex-wife Linda, son Corey (daughter-in-law Carol), daughter Michelle (son-in-law Len), three grandsons Daniel, Kyle, and Blake, many nieces and nephews, and many close friends in China, Hawaii, and San Mateo. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. His memories will stay in their hearts forever.
