Our beloved matriarch, SHOU YEE TANG, passed peacefully at home in San Francisco, California on November 3rd, 2025. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as the steady heart of our family. Her kind, supportive nature shaped every gathering and gave us a sense of safety.
Born in China on November 17th, 1925, she carried her heritage with quiet pride. Her journey from that birthplace to her long life in San Francisco became the thread that connects our family story. Each step showed us how resilience can live side by side with tenderness.
Nothing made her smile more than a table filled with great food and sweet treats. From a favorite bun to a simple piece of candy, she believed every bite should be enjoyed together. That everyday joy, paired with her unwavering support, taught us that the smallest moments hold the greatest warmth.
A short while before she left us, a beautiful foreign doll caught her eye and lifted her spirits, reminding her of times and joys past. The gentle glow on her face as she held it is a picture we will always keep.
We will carry forward her kindness in how we speak to one another and her support in how we stand together. Her place at the table may be empty, yet her presence guides our family circle. Goodbye, Grandma; thank you for every meal shared, every gentle word, and the love that will forever echo through our lives.
