Shiva Arulanandan's Obituary
Shiva Arulanandan, age 65, passed away peacefully during his sleep at his home in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Born on March 21, 1960, in Ghana, West Africa, Shiva was the beloved son of Dr. Kandiah and Rajeswary Arulanandan. He grew up alongside his older brother, Dr. Chandran Arulanandan, and his younger sister, Rohini Arulanandan.
From an early age, Shiva demonstrated remarkable intellect and curiosity. At just 16 years old, he and his father patented a ground probe—an achievement that reflected both his ingenuity and the strong academic influence of his family. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UC Davis, followed by an MBA from UC Davis, building the foundation for a distinguished professional career.
Shiva served as a Senior Applications Engineer at BePower Solutions, where he was respected for his technical expertise, professionalism, and ability to connect with colleagues and clients alike. His enthusiasm for his work was matched only by his passion for people.
An extrovert by nature and blessed with a way of words, Shiva had a magnetic personality. He lived fully in the moment and brought energy into every
room he entered. He cherished his family deeply and often spoke proudly of the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews, celebrating their successes
as if they were his own.
Outside of work, Shiva had many passions. He enjoyed fishing and pool, followed all major sporting events, and had a particular love for auto racing. Above all, he was a devoted member of Raider Nation, forever loyal to the Raiders and their muscle and mystique.
Shiva will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and sharp intellect. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the memories that will forever be cherished.
He is survived by his brother, Dr. Chandran Arulanandan, and his sister, Rohini Arulanandan, along with extended family, namesake Shivanthy Solos, and many dear friends.
May God Bless His Soul.
